Ten members of the Brown and DeLine team attended the Serious Business Conference in New Orleans.
Serious Business has become one of the most celebrated business education events in the beauty industry. It combines inspiration, education and wisdom from some of the world’s most innovative thinkers, and gives us all an opportunity to re-evaluate our destiny and the importance of the work that we do.
The Keynote speaker, Sally Hogshead, gave a great presentation about how to Fascinate in 9 seconds or less. The Serious Business group and a number of stylists unable to attend, took a quick online test to learn our F-Score. Take the test yourself and compare results with your stylist the next time you come in!
Geno Stampora, consultant and motivational speaker, was fantastic as usual. His tagline of Personal-Positive-Potential is evident in everything he does. We were fortunate enough to have Geno visit our salon once as a guest speaker.
Dr Saul has inspired us all to be more healthful. Watts Wacker was inspirational. David Adams ‘wowed’ us with his techniques. There were many other speakers that shared their knowledge and expertise with us.
In our down time, we enjoyed the sights and sounds (and beverages!) that New Orleans had to offer. What a fun city!
We are back in the salon inspired and motivated!
We look forward to sharing what we learned with you.
Brown an DeLine is pleased to once again be the featured hair salon at the Brides-to-Be Bridal show.
Our talented stylists will be doing the bridal styles on the runway models during the fashion show. Our work will be featured on roving models, as well.
This show is at the Four Points Sheraton, 3200 Boardwalk in Ann Arbor from 12pm-4pm.

Congratulations to Ashlie Camp, who recently completed her cosmetology apprenticeship with Brown and DeLine.
The Michigan cosmetology apprentice program is an extensive 2 year program that offers an alternative to traditional beauty school. Apprentices work closely with their mentor to learn how to excel in the fast-paced salon industry. In addition to gaining technical skills, our apprentices learn about salon management, experience a busy salon atmosphere and pick up business building techniques from a successful team!
The program is offered at no cost to apprentices.
Educating tomorrow’s star salon professionals is one of our ways of giving back to the community!
Did you know that Brown and DeLine is a proud supporter of KIVA?
KIVA is a non-profit organization with a mission to positively connect people throughout the world through micro lending. Using the internet and a large network or microfinance institutions, KIVA lets individuals or teams lend as little as $25 at a time!
Team Brown and DeLine has helped fund 31 micro loans! Our seed money for the loans came from a $5 blue jean day. Over the last few years, our amount out in loans has grown to $375. As money is paid back to the lender, we are able to fund other loans.
Brown and DeLine opts to work with women in the beauty industry as often as possible.
Cathy started in the beauty industry with a $325 loan from her Grandmother.
