May is one of the busiest months of the year. Spring weddings, prom and graduations have kept the salon buzzing.
It is an exhilarating and exhausting time of the year–especially for all the super women trying to balance a family, career and a little ‘me’ time.
From May 1st until June 16th, these women drop into my chair, frazzled and late. They are literally running from event to event. We do all this because we don’t want to disappoint our children. Eventhough we rarely miss an event, this could potentially be the one they remember their whole lives.
I dropped my son off at school this morning at 4:25am. He and 150 other sixth graders are on their way to Toronto for two fun filled days. I don’t remember ever having this opportunity in school.
As I sat in my car watching the 6 giant busses all lit up in the dark, I noticed all the other tired looking parents. All are on the same 6 week rollercoaster of events. All drinking their coffee waiting for caffeine to kick in. I’m sure they all had the same lump in their throats that I did.
Now, as I’m waiting for daylight so I can decompress with a 2 mile run, I’m refocused on the day.
13 days left, and we can all take off our Super Women capes! (for a minute)
