Cathy Brown-Issel

Cathy was born into a hair designing family. She began her career at age 15, working with her mother.

A nationally recognized entrepreneur and hair designer, Cathy has dedicated her career to the elevation of salon professionals. She and her team have written a book, Thrive - Thriving in the Beauty Industry, to help others in the industry be the best they can be! The success of Thrive has inspired the team to begin a second book. Cathy is also writing a book on leading in the beauty industry.

Her passion and commitment for over two decades has created an impressive list of success stories.

Brown and DeLine Salon opened in 1995. It quickly gained a reputation for excellence in both hair and spa services. The ‘It’s All About You’ philosophy allows for a great experience for our clients from the moment they step in the door.

In addition to her busy hair designing schedule, Cathy consults regularly with other entrepreneurs, sharing her knowledge and expertise.

Cathy participates in owner’s circles, networking groups and the Michigan Cosmetology Apprentice Program. She is often consulted for her opinion and expertise in all areas of the beauty industry. She has been published in Salon Today, Nails magazine, Mind Body and Soul magazine, Modern Salon, The Industry Source magazine, Ann Arbor News and the Washtenaw reporter.

Cathy’s legacy will be her dedication to help all salon professionals be as successful as they dream to be. She is well known for her ambition and drive. These factors, along with her ‘you get what you give’ belief, drive everything she does.

Cathy and her talented team have won several Salon Today 200 awards-one of the industry’s highest honors.

Cathy along with Brown & DeLine is now a member of Intercoiffure, the most powerful and influential organization in the hair dressing industry.

Cathy resides in Ann Arbor with her husband, four children and their very energetic black lab.
